Pirjo Patala; M. Sc., Chemical Engineering; has been appointed Project Portfolio Manager, Convenience, and a member of the global R&D team at Suominen Corporation. She has extensive experience in the customer service and research and development environments in the pulp and paper industry.
 
From 2005–2015 Patala acted as director, Research Services, at Fiber Laboratory, Mikkeli University of Applied Science. Her most recent position was as global product manager at Metso Paper. Earlier, she has held several managerial positions in customer service, sales and product development within pulp and paper machine suppliers Ahlstrom and Andritz. In addition of Finland she has worked in the U.S., Germany and Austria.
